You Always Did Have A Nice Smile (Poem)

One Angel

The smile of the year
Belongs to you
The soothing voice I hear
Comes out of a mouth that's always new.

And now that you pack your things
The smile will turn into a memory
And whatever pain the day brings
There will always be that smile to soothe me.

That smile will always stay
During dark and lonely days
And I will find a way
To capture it always.

And if I should fall
From the grace that holds me
The smile will be all
I live to see.

And now you go
But the memory will stay
And that smile that I know
Will grow stronger every day.

I'll think of that smile
When shades are the darkest blue
And all the while
I will think of you.
